Centre (TIC), the principal
agency of the Government coordinating, encouraging, promoting and facilitating
investment in Tanzania and the lead adviser to the Government on investment
policy and related matters, together with the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF); the umbrella voice and apex private sector organization promoting
private sector-led social and economic development in Tanzania, with our
International Co-host Promoting International Collaboration
(PIC) from Israel; we are pleased to
invite you to attend the Tanzania-Israel Business and Investment Forum (TIBIF)
2014 to be held on 17th – 20th March 2014 (09:00hours until 17:00hours) at
the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.
The forum is a one of a kind event that will convene business, investors,
policymakers and industry leaders from various enterprises and institutions of
all sizes, both national and international, in a 4-day exchange that fosters
bottom up practitioner-driven business to business and business to government
solutions for economic development. Given Israel’s prominence in scientific and
technological innovation for development, it is a privilege and unprecedented
for Tanzania to host a Forum with the unique focus of developing Tanzania,
Israel and other countries economic and scientific partnerships; establishing
alliances that will lead to national economic transformation.
The Program format includes: Expert and practitioner talks,
One-to-one business and development partnership negotiations, Exhibitions,
Networking sessions, Business field tours and optional excursions. The Forum
will engage business investment institutions operating in Agriculture, Mining,
Financial services, Education, Infrastructure (Roads, Water),

Gil Haskel,
Ambassador of Israel to Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi and Seychelles. H.E Gil
Haskel was born in 1965, In Jerusalem, Israel. He graduated with B.A. in
Psychology and Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prior
to his appointment as the Ambassador of Israel to Kenya, he served in various
capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: - Director, Economic Department
III, Economic Affairs Division. - Head of NGO Liaison Unit International
Organizations Division. - Counselor, Head of Japan Desk, Asia & Pacific
Division. - Political Counselor & Spokesman, Embassy of Israel, Tokyo
Japan. - Director, Cadet Training program, Training Division. - First Secretary,

Dr. Jonathan Fine
Dr. Jonathan Fine is the academic advisor of the
international program in Government, Diplomacy, and Strategy at the IDC (the
interdisciplinary center, Herzlyia, Israel) and a fellow researcher at the ICT
(The International Institute for Counter Terrorism), also at the IDC. Recently
he was also appointed as the academic advisor to the joint government program
between the IDC and the University of Syracuse. He received his PhD from the
Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is a graduate of the Executive Course in
Counter Terrorism at the ICT, and a graduate of the Solomon Shechter Institute
for Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, where he was also ordained as a Conservative
Rabbi. He has a wide background in History, Comparative Religion, Political
Science and International Relations, and specializes in the transition from
secular agenda political violence to religious agenda political violence,
focusing on both global, regional, and Israeli perspectives, with special
emphasis on Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and their concept of Holy War. He
is also a former advisor in arms control, conflict resolution, and counter
terrorism, and an expert on Israeli Studies. Dr. Fine published in numerous
academic journals such as the Middle East Quarterly in Washington and Middle
Eastern Studies in London and has several chapters in books, both in Israel and
abroad. His first book dealt with the establishment of the Israeli governmental
system, and his second book which is forthcoming in the Texas University Press
at Austin, is titled: "Holy War in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam – a
Comparative Analysis: Past & Present". Dr. Fine has been a visiting
professor both, in academic and government institutions around the world
(especially in The US, Europe, Latin America, The Russian Federation, and South
Africa) and lectured at Universities such as Georgetown, Chicago, Layola,
Minnesota, and Leipzig, where he is also often interviewed by the local media.
He also lectures quite often on behalf of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign
Affairs abroad.

Millo, Gilad Millo – Head of Business Development & Public Relations for
Balton CP & Chairman of the Board of Israel for Africa Gilad Millo is
currently Head of Business Development & Public Relations for the Balton CP
Group of Companies Balton CP is the company that owns Balton Tanzania, Amiran
Kenya, Balton Uganda and Amiran Zambia, forming one of the largest agricultural
‘one stop shops’ in East Africa and representing most of the Israeli Agro-tech
giants on the African continent. Gilad is also Chairman of the Board of Israel
for Africa (IFA) and Israeli NGO headquartered in Kenya, which seeks to empower
the people of Africa using innovation and know-how from Israel. Since his
return to Africa, Gilad has been instrumental in leading a paradigm shift in
Africa’s approach to small scale farming and has worked closely with several
Governments in the region and with the Donor and NGO communities, private
sector and leading finance and micro-finance institutions, to bring this
‘agribusiness revolution’ to the masses. Awarded 3 times with the MDG Award,
sponsored by UNDP, for the Eradication of Extreme Poverty and Hunger in 2010,
for Youth Empowerment in 2011 and as MDG Champion of the Year in 2013, Gilad
has been behind such successful campaigns as the ‘Next Generation Farmers
Initiative’ which brought modern model farms based on Israeli agro-technology
to more than 1000 schools in Kenya, and the ‘Farming is Cool’ campaign, which
has attracted tens of thousands of youths in East Africa to take up agriculture
as their main source of livelihood. For the 3 years prior to his return to
Kenya, Gilad served as Consul for Media and Public Affairs at the Consulate
General of Israel in Los Angeles. The son of a thirty-seven year career
diplomat, Gilad grew up around the globe, spending most of his childhood in
Bonn, London, New York, Ankara and Israel. While in Los Angeles, Gilad
spearheaded Israel's public diplomacy efforts in the Southwestern United
States. Creating strong relationships in the Hollywood Entertainment Industry,
Gilad led several celebrity driven campaigns drawing positive attention to the
many faces of Israel. A high point in this public relations effort, was the
"Live for Sderot" concert, a star studded 'Live Aid' concert
launching Israel's 60th independence celebrations in the United States. Prior
to Los Angeles Gilad served as the Deputy Ambassador of Israel to Kenya, a
regional Embassy responsible for Israel’s relations with Kenya, Tanzania,
Uganda, Zambia, Malawi and Seychelles. During his term Gilad initiated several
food relief projects, feeding thousands of malnourished Kenyan children in a
response to the Kenyan Government’s call for aid following a severe drought
that struck the region at the time. Among his other duties Gilad was responsible
for the activities of MASHAV, the Center for International Cooperation of the
State of Israel. In addition to training and development activities, Gilad was
responsible for overseeing Israel’s operations at the acclaimed Kibwezi School
of Irrigation.
As part of his responsibilities in Kenya, Gilad served as
Deputy Permanent Representative to two United Nations organizations
headquartered in Nairobi, UNEP and UNHabitat. Before embarking on his
diplomatic career, Gilad gained extensive experience in the media as a
journalist covering the Foreign Desk for Israel’s Channel Two News. He served
as both an editor and reporter during 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan. He is
married to Hadas whom he met while they were both serving in the Israel Defense
Forces. They have two children.

Martin, BA Cur, Dip, EDP served as the president and Chief Executive
Officer of the South African Bureau of Standards. Mr. Martin was president of
the Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHI) until 2011. Prior to commencing Mr.
Martin career in the private sector, he was MEC for Finance in the North West
Provincial Government from 1994 to 2004. In 2006, he was elected to the Council
for the International Standards Association (ISO) and appointed as a member of
the PRI Board of the United Nations Global Compact Initiative on Responsible
Investment. He was also chairman of the board of trustees for the Government
Employees Pension Fund of South Africa until 2009. He has been chairman of the
Synergy Income Fund Limited since October 1, 2011 and serves its Non-Executive

Dr Sara Lev, Dr.
Lev is highly qualified and has vast experience in entrepreneurship and
innovation processes in high tech organizations in Israel and worldwide. Dr.
Lev graduated computer science engineering at the Technion- Israel Institute of
Technology, and worked for several years as a
software team leader in startup companies. She took her
Ph.D. in Business Strategy & Entrepreneurship from the Technion and upon
graduation, she was a visiting scholar at INSEAD, France, for several years. In
2007 Dr. Lev joined Carmel, the Technology Transfer Organization of the
University of Haifa and served as a Vice President for Business Development for
six years. Since then she teaches MBA courses in the University of Haifa and in
the Technion. Her expertise is based on 28 years in the business arena, in the
academic world and on the integration of these two.

Executive Chairman of Success Motivation Institute (Zimbabwe) whose operations
extend from Harare to cover eight sub-Saharan African countries. SMI,
(incorporating LMI and FMI) is involved in facilitating, motivating and
mentoring the success of organizational leaders, management teams and
individuals thereby enabling them to realize more of their potential. In 2013,
after 12 successful years within SMI International, Nigel was invited to join

head-quartered in Waco, Texas (USA). Mr Nigel Chanakira holds a BSc (Hon)
Economics and MSc (Hon) Economics from the University of Zimbabwe. He also has

student. He has attended numerous Zimbabwean and international banking,
business, executive development and leadership courses with institutions that
include Oxford and Harvard Universities and the Pacific and Haggai Institutes
in the United States of America. Mr Chanakira, alongside his business partners,
founded a successful business, Kingdom Securities in 1994 which rose to
prominence in Zimbabwean financial circles cumulating in a reverse-takeover of
The Discount Company of Zimbabwe which was listed on the Zimbabwe Stock
Exchange in 1999. He subsequently led his team to start and acquire stakes in
various banks and financial services companies in Malawi, Botswana, Zambia and
South Africa, before he merged Kingdom with two other ZSE listed companies
(Meikles and Tanganda) to create one of Zimbabwe’s largest conglomerates in
2007. Unexpectedly, in one of his business lows, the partnership collapsed in
2009 but Mr Chanakira successfully de-merged the Kingdom group of companies
from the Kingdom Meikles Africa Ltd in 2011. Nigel then formed a new banking
partnership with one of Africa’s fastest growing banks in Mauritius, AfrAsia
Bank Ltd, thereby creating AfrAsia Kingdom Holdings Limited (AKZL),
head-quartered in Mauritius. In September 2013 Nigel sold his shares in AKHL to
focus his attention on SMI, Kingdom Private Equity and Kingdom Bank Africa.
Throughout his business career primarily as CEO under the
Kingdom group, Nigel has won more than 20 local and international business
awards which include twice being recognized for running the Top Company on the
Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) (in 2001 and 2007), having the Best Turnaround
ZSE Company (in 2006) . Notably, Nigel won the 2007 Director of the Year Award
promoted by the Institute of Directors of Zimbabwe. The World Economic Forum
(WEF) recognized Nigel as a Young Global Leader as early as 2001 and
subsequently, he has been a moderator of sessions and a panelist with global
leaders at WEF & other world conferences. Success Motivation Inc. (Waco,
USA) has twice had Mr. Chanakira as their World Client of the year (in 2001 and
2008). Amongst his other accolades is the coveted TP Deuschle 2012 Award for
distinguished service to
Celebration Church International and being named The Most
Influential Entrepreneur Post-Independence in 2013 by Empretec Zimbabwe. Mr.
Chanakira is chairman of the Zimbabwe Investment Authority and a director of
several family investment companies. He is happily married to Caroline and they
have three sons (Panashe, Tadiwa, and Ponayi) and one daughter (Mazvita). Dr.
Obiageli (Oby) Ezekwesili
Dr. (Mrs.) Obiageli
‘Oby’ Ezekwesili is a Senior Economic Advisor at Open Society Foundations
(OSF), a group founded by investor and philanthropist George Soros. She also
jointly serves as Economic Advisor for Africa Economic Development Policy
Initiative (AEDPI), a program of the Open Society Foundations. In these roles,
she advises nine reform-committed African heads of state including Paul Kagame
of Rwanda and Ellen Johnson-Sir leaf of Liberia. Before joining OSF, she was
Vice President of the World Bank (Africa Region) in Washington, D.C.,
responsible for operations in 48 countries and a lending portfolio of nearly $40
billion.
From 2002 to 2007, Ezekwesili worked for the federal
government of Nigeria as Minister of Solid Minerals, Minister of Education,
head of the Budget Monitoring and Price Intelligence Unit as well as
Chairperson of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative
(NEITI) where she led the first ever national implementation of the global
standards and principles of transparency in the oil, gas and mining sectors.
For the prior two years, she was at the Center for International Development at
Harvard University as Director of the Harvard – Nigeria Economic Strategy
program in Boston and Abuja.
Dr. Ezekwesili is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MA in
International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos as well as an MA
in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard
University. She trained and worked as Chartered Accountant/Consultant with the
Global firm of Akintola Williams Deloitte & Touche, she also worked in
senior management positions in the financial services sector. Dr. Ezekwesili
was a founding Director of Transparency International, representing Africa at
the global anti-corruption body based in Berlin. She serves on the boards of
Bharti Airtel, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the School of Public Policy of
Central European University, Budapest; The Harold Hartog School of Government
and Policy at Tel Aviv University Israel; The Center for Global Leadership at
Tufts University, Boston and the New Africa Magazine among others. In May 2012,
Ezekwesili was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree by the University
of Agriculture, Abeokuta in Nigeria. She has also been awarded the Nigerian
national honor of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic.

Dr. Simpson Ngcizela:
He has established a program called the Africa’s Living Legends which honors
our African Legends in political and business spheres. The program has honored
Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Dr. Sam Motsuenyane and President
Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma. Prior to the elections in April 1994, he served as a
successful mediator in resolving conflicts between rival political
organizations in Welkom South Africa and promoted a culture of tolerance within
the political scenario. He was the chairman of the Thabong Community
Development Trust and played the role of the Chairman during the transformation
process of the local Vista University.Dr Ngcizela was the founder of the
Goldfields Metropolitan Development Corporation (GMCDC) that built over 1000
houses in the Thabong area for low income people. He handled a budget of over
R100M. He is a member of the Free State AIDS Council and also serves on the
steering committee of the Moral Regeneration Movement initiated by the ANC led
government of South Africa. He is currently serving on the Forum on illegal
mining led by the Department of Mineral Resources.
He is the founding president of the Foundation for Future
Leaders South Africa. Dr. Simpson Ngcizela obtained his PhD degree from
Teamwork International in Virginia USA, and is an alumnus of the Haggai
Institute- Singapore. He holds a Professional Certificate in Business
Management (PCM) and the Advanced Professional Diploma in Business Management
(APDM) with the Open University School of business UK (UNISA). Bob Ryan,
Founders of Market 70 -Marketplace Transformation in USA and globally. He has
experience in both public and private sector, for profit and not-for-profit
corporations, union and non-union shops, and in urban and rural settings. He
holds a Master’s degree in Hospital and Health Care Administration. He has
provided consulting services ranging from statewide systems change projects to
one on one coaching for skills improvement. He is acclaimed for his stand-up
training techniques and is skilled at needs assessment, curriculum design, and
evaluation. Past clients include various departments of state and local
governments, various professional associations, urban and rural health delivery
systems, hospitals, nursing homes, and small businesses in numerous industries.
He specializes in the development and use of ethical systems in quality,
productivity and service delivery and in strategic thinking, planning and
decision-making.
Dr. Abu Bako: He
is the Founding President and International Director of the Foundation for
Leadership Resource Development. An Economist by profession, a former lecturer
in Economics and Senior Researcher in Agricultural Economics. He operates as a
consultant to some national leaders, organisations, institutions and
governmental bodies in the area of Politics, Economy and Business, Education,
Science and Technology.
As
one of the ten fastest growing economies in the world, Tanzania continues to
draw the attention of investors globally and is seen as a golden beach of
investment opportunities. Countries such
as the United States, the United Kingdom and China continue to invest heavily
and are aggressively vying for business within various sectors in the
country. Tanzania’s economy has been
growing steadily at rates averaging 6% year for the past 10 years with the
economy having expanded by 6.9% in 2012. Majority of the top business leaders
believe that the economy is performing far better in 2013 than in 2012 and
remain very positive about the prospects for 2014-5, as revealed by a recent
World Bank/KPMG survey.
In
view of this background of progress, the Kingdom Leadership Network Tanzania
(KLNT), a network consisting of leaders and key decision makers in the country,
has decided to convene the “Tanzania-Israel
Business Investment Forum (TIBIF) 2014” in Dar es Salaam from March 17th
– 20th 2014 with the objective of enhancing cooperation between
foreign investors with particular reference between Israel related businesses
and local Tanzanian enterprises. This session is unprecedented and will be the
first business Investment forum of its kind in the country to focus on
developing economic and scientific relationships with Israel. The forum intends to foster strategic
alliances and solid business partnerships between private Small and Medium
scale businesses from Israel and Tanzania and other countries.
A UNIQUE FORUM
It
is intended that the event will rise above being a mere conference. The
“Tanzania-Israel Business Investment Forum (TIBIF) 2014” is supposed to foster
business activity aimed at facilitating and promoting matching and cooperation
between investors and fast-growing companies based in Tanzania, Israel and
other countries. It is revolutionary due

Guarantee system
Each
investor, businesses and institutions planning to attend the meeting will be
given a questionnaire, in strict accordance to eligible terms and conditions

exhibition. The secretariat of KLNT will sign a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) and Service Agreement with each organization, Private Equity (PE) or

Excursions/Business tour
Excursions
and a business trip will be organized for all local and foreign participants
that may wish to visit the various proposed destinations. Visits to notable
tourist attractions recognized worldwide such as Mount Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro
Crater and the world-famous Serengeti National Reserve will be arranged. The
intention of the Forum is to ensure that businesses and Investors find targeted
investment opportunities, strategic alliances, business partners and clients
during the meeting and or at the exhibition, and to bring to light a new
Tanzania that is geared towards becoming a new economic power house for Africa

we welcome you to Dar es Salaam and to the 2014 Tanzania–Israel Business
Investment Forum. Dar Es Salaam
literally “The Haven of peace” is Tanzania’s largest and richest city serving
as an important regional economic center. It feels special to be in Dar es
Salaam; on New York Times list of places to go in 2014. Tanzania may be best
known for the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro and the game-packed plains
of the Serengeti, but the real pulse of the country is found in its largest
city, Dar es Salaam. It is an African metropolis coming into its own.
