Christina Shusho Faults Kenya's Gospel Industry

Tanzanian Gospel artiste Christina Shusho
Tanzanian Gospel songstress Christina Shusho has expressed her concern about the state of the Kenyan Gospel industy. Shusho who was last weekend crowned the Artist of the Year, Tanzania at the just concluded Groove Awards ceremony has termed the Gospel scene as 'Gospel entertainment'.

Speaking during her interview on "Tukuza", KTN's leading Gospel show, Shusho let known her disappointment and even revealed her ideal Gospel Ministry.

One of the points she made out clear is that : “The Kenya Gospel Music is getting worse rather than good as Kenya gospel artistes are not singing bad songs only that its more of entertainment gospel.

The sad point is that gospel music has now gone main stream and that’s where we ask are doing the right thing such that the world also now loves us?

To quote her in Swahili she said: “Kenyans artistes are making gospel music worse rather than good as a variety of Kenyan gospel artistes are bringing more of the world entertainment music in the current gospel rather than worship.”

Further she said : ” A multiple of Kenyan Gospel artistes do not focus on saving the soul of the listener when recording the song in the studio, rather most focus on entertaining the audience on stage performance.”

Christina was bold to say her version of the gospel by saying that gospel musicians in Kenya need to look up to the Kenyan gospel icons including : Mary Atieno , Sarah K ,Emmy Kosgei, Daddy Owen and many others as their mentors.

Re-digging the Wells of Prayers by Pastor Dondo

The Preacher first reminded the congregation on the main purpose of Christians as its seen in Matthew 22:36-40

 “36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

We need to get back the basics on how the old church behaved.

Opening Scripture comes from Acts 2:42

“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

The old church devoted themselves in prayers, we ought to re-dig our wells of Prayers

True worship cannot be possible without prayers
Mark 11: 17 “And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'? But you have made it 'a den of robbers.”

Genesis 26:18 “Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them.”

 God is calling us to re-dig the wells as we dig our Spirit will be refreshed.
Some people has been so busy with their job, business, families and other world activities in such a way they have forgotten the basics of Christianity.

Christians have lost the thirsty for the things of God because they are not praying anymore.

Some are so used to salvation that they cannot move on anymore, It is time to re-dig our wells of Prayer as Isaac did

May God help us to experience fresh anointing of the Holy Ghost

Some are good in excuses that we are living in challenging time so we cannot pray, they have forgotten what is written in Haggai 2: 9 ” The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the LORD Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the LORD Almighty."

We will experience power of God even more this time.

As we re-dig the wells we are going to see greater things, more miracles and power of Jesus transforming people.

 Jeremiah 29:13”You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

James 4:8 “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minde”

As per above scriptures if we seek God we will find him, we can seek him through Prayers
We need to learn to put the first things first, Prayer is the first thing in our Christian life

If we want to see God we must start with God
The former church was the church of Prayer; you can go through Acts 1:14,24, Acts 2:1-4,42

The following are three things that we can learn from former church;

Leo tutaangalia kipengele muhimu sana cha kuangalia kwa huyo mtarajiwa wako ambacho ni;

 Je huyo mtarajiwa wako ni mkweli kwa kiasi gani;

Re-Examine Your Giving....Prophetic Word by Cuthbeth Simalenga

Today I am bringing a prophetic Word to you,someone is about to be promoted but we have to play our part by re-examing our giving. Christians usually claims their rights from God...Ohh God please give me house,car,money,school fees but they forget their responsibility of giving.

Sometimes it difficult to give due to the following;

· We attach value to money (prices, time)

· An illusion that the more we have the better

· Lack of understanding of the truth

· Maturity = We need to grow

· Money = life (bread)

A STEWARD is one who manages another's property, finances, or other affairs. A steward does not own anything—he is to make his master a profit

Opening Scripture Mark 12:41-44; 41 “Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

Mombasa grenade attack on open-air church service rattles Kenya

Ten-year-old Dominic Maseno being attended to after the Likoni grenade attack, his mother looks on

A grenade thrown last evening at around 7:00 p.m. into a crowd of Christian worshippers at an open-air prayer meeting in Mombasa injured at least dozen people, while in Nairobi, an hour-and-a-half later, at least 4 people were injured in a similar attack. The devices were thrown from a motorbike, according to witnesses in Mombasa, and a car, as seen in Nairobi, and no arrests were made until this morning.

The Mombasa attack comes almost exactly a year since a similar act of terror was carried out, but in Nairobi grenades thrown at local bars, pubs, and bus stages have been a recurring situation since Kenya invaded Somalia in hot pursuit of Islamic terrorists to dislodge with the help of AU troops from Uganda and Burundi the Al Shabab militias from their strongholds. While this objective has by and large been accomplished, even though periodic attempts are made by remnants of the terrorist group affiliated to Al Qaida to re-enter the main cities and cause disruption, life has been progressively returning to normal in Somalia, while Kenya sadly remains at risk for her courageous action.

Sources in Kenya agreed that both attacks were likely carried out by Al Shabab sympathizers but expressed their disquiet over the apparently coordinated way, since both were only an hour-and-a-half apart.
