Bishop T.D. Jakes and wife Serita Jakes have made many public appearances together, but never on the cover of EBONY magazine. Now, the pair is sharing what makes their love work in a feature story for the February issue, along with couples DeVon Franklin and Meagan Good and Clifford "T.I" Harris and Tameka "Tiny" Harris.
Jakes, pastor of The Potter's House megachurch in Dallas, Texas, and his wife will be one of three couples showcasing black love on EBONY's multiple covers scheduled to hit newsstands on Jan 4. For one of the three diverse EBONY magazine covers, Mr. and Mrs. Jakes share how God united them in love.
The bishop gave some insight about the best way to keep a marriage thriving with hard work and privacy.

"Marriage requires work and expecting the unexpected. Don't let other people design a marriage you can't live with," Jakes told EBONY. "Keep other people out your business. Every marriage is different."
Although the Jakes family will grace the cover of the February issue of EBONY, actress Good and her Seventh-day Adventist preacher and Hollywood producer husband Franklin also shared their tips about love while appearing on the cover of another version of the publication.
According to Good, who is currently working on her NBC dramatic series "Deception," her husband receives surprises from her to keep their romance alive.

"What do I do for him that¹s romantic? I try to surprise him whenever he comes to town," Good told EBONY of her preacher husband who also serves as a film executive and author. "I wear nice things!"
EBONY decided to also showcase a third version of black love with rapper T.I. and his singer-songwriter wife Tiny who appear on a family-oriented reality television show together titled "T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle." The rapper told EBONY about his decision to make a commitment to his wife and how it impacted their relationship.
"Once I made my mind up that I was going to be committed to this relationship, I started being married then and there. Since I've been married, it's the same relationship, we're the same
people," the rapper told the magazine. "We treat each other the same way, and we're just as happy now as we were before."

According to EBONY, the decision to highlight the three diverse couples on three separate covers came about because "these cover couples embody all the essential ingredients for Black Love."
Each couple's cover along with their advice and insight concerning love and marriage can be viewed in EBONY magazine on Jan 4.
