Happy New Year 2013

Rejoice and Rejoice Blog wishes you a Happy and Blessed Year 2013

A Year Of Happiness And Success!

NEW YEAR RESOLUTION

As the New Year begins, we often make resolutions and so, even non believer do make New Year Resolutions, it is important for Christian to keep the resolutions or promise they have made. Here are some few Resolutions that I thought one should make to have a Victorious Year 2013.

Pray

Prayer is a way of communicating with our Father God, failure to communicate with him he will not understand your need. Set a precious time to have an intimacy fellowship with him.

Plan to be the Prayer Warrior, Ameen!

Fellowship

At least twice in a week have time to share the word of God and pray with other brethren. Your faith will be strengthens and you will find yourself moving from Glory to Glory, Amen

Giving

Most of us are very stinge, may God help us to change our attitude this coming year and always, by giving more to him and to the needy. Give not only your money but your time, talent and any other resource to be used for the Glory of God. By doing so the shower of Blessing will be Yours, Amen! I feel like preaching…

Ensure you have right attitude towards money, do not forget to tithe, Amen, May God Help Us.

Healthy living

Having balanced diet, avoiding Junk foods, regular body exercise and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day, also set a time to relax.

Eat a lot of fruits, some white meat and avoid red…meat…

Check your weight regularly if it is not okay, plan Weight Loss Program; if you need one contact us….

Spend time with your family

This is two sided, parents ensure you spend time with your kids, pray and play with them. Yeah it’s so good for a father to play with her/his kids it adds a lot of value to them. Grown kids like me J also should have time with their parents, visit, talk and listen to them.

Become the best

Plan to become the best in whatever you are doing in your church, work, university, school and home.

Be the best… Pastor, Father,Mother,Wife,Husband,Employee,Student,Kid .Hallelujah

HAVE  A BLESSED YEAR 2013

Families grieve near Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Conn.,
after a shooting left 26 people dead, including 20 children, Dec. 14, 2012.

Christian leaders were quick to offer their reaction to the deadly shooting Friday at a Connecticut elementary school in a small town where within minutes 26 people were dead – 20 of them children.

By mid-afternoon, evangelist and Harvest Christian Fellowship Pastor Greg Laurie had posted a blog in which he called the morning shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton the "worst imaginable scenario."

"It's Christmas time," Laurie wrote. "Parents bundle up their children another day for school before Christmas vacation starts in the small town of Newtown, Connecticut. There's shopping to do, errands to run before they pick them up.

"Then the worst imaginable scenario takes place. A young man walks into Sandy Hook Elementary School and begins shooting. When the horror finally stops 20 children and 6 adults have been shot and killed. This is just heartbreaking."

Laurie, who lost his 33-year-old son, Christopher, as the result of a deadly car accident in 2008, said he knows the excruciating pain of losing a child.

"The experts will opine on why this happened. All I can say is this was pure evil. The heartlessness and wickedness of this man that did the shooting is really unimaginable," he wrote. "I know from personal experience that the pain of losing a child is a fate worse than death for a parent.

"At times like this we must reflect on the essential message of Christmas which is Immanuel has come. Immanuel means God is with us."

Chaplains from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's Rapid Response unit were already on their way Friday, some being diverted from New York while serving victims of Hurricane Sandy.

"Senseless killings like the one we've seen today in Newtown, Conn., leave us stunned and looking for answers," said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. "The Bible tells us the human heart is 'wicked' and 'who can know it?' My heart aches for the victims, their families and the entire community.

"One thing we can be absolutely sure of is that God loves each one of the victims and all those who are suffering right now as a result of this vicious act," he continued. "My hope and prayer is that our entire nation will embrace the community of Newtown with our love and cover them with our prayers, asking for God's perfect comfort and peace in the midst of this dark hour."

Not too long after the tragedy, Christian author Max Lucado wrote a prayer published in The Christian Post.

"Dear Jesus,
It's a good thing you were born at night. This world sure seems dark. I have a good eye for silver linings. But they seem dimmer lately.
These killings, Lord. These children, Lord. Innocence violated. Raw evil demonstrated.
The whole world seems on edge. Trigger-happy. Ticked off…"

He continued, "Your world seems a bit darker this Christmas. But you were born in the dark, right? You came at night. The shepherds were nightshift workers. The Wise Men followed a star. Your first cries were heard in the shadows. To see your face, Mary and Joseph needed a candle flame. It was dark. Dark with Herod's jealousy. Dark with Roman oppression. Dark with poverty. Dark with violence…"

He concluded, "This Christmas, we ask you, heal us, help us, be born anew in us.
Hopefully,
Your Children"

Pastor Rocky Veach, who oversees TORCH Ministries and leads Connections Church with wife Bobbi Veach in Newton, spoke with The Christian Post Friday shortly after learning about the tragedy. He told CP that at least two families from his congregation are from the Sandy Hook area.

"I think it's indicative of the condition of our culture in this nation that this kind of thing continues to happen," said Veach. "As a pastor, I think we have to look to the Lord. A lot of people are hurting today and it's very sad when you have to ask God for His help to comfort them, and not only for the healing but just for answers as to why this kind of thing continues to happen."

Pope Blesses Ugandan Supporter of 'Anti-Homosexuality Bill'

Uganda's Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, who has received criticism for her support of the country's "Anti-Homosexuality Bill", was recently blessed by Pope Benedict XVI on a visit to Rome.
"I think this is a moment that cannot be repeated. We have been reading about him, hearing stories about St.Peter's Basilica but now we are here physically," Kadaga said shortly after meeting the Pope, according to Uganda Picks.
"I think it is something that I will remember all my life. It's a very great moment and I thank God for this opportunity," Kadaga added.
Kadaga was one of the thousands to attend the Dec. 12 service at which Pope Benedict XVI launched his Twitter account under the handle "@Pontifex."
The speaker of parliament was primarily in Rome to attend the 7th Consultative Assembly of Parliamentarians for the International Criminal Court and the World Parliamentary Conference on Human Rights, along with fellow Ugandan Members of Parliament Paula Turyahikayo, Elijah Okupa, Abdu Katuntu, Betti Amongi, and Chris Baryomunsi.
Kadaga has been criticized for her support of Uganda's controversial "Anti-Homosexuality Bill", which further criminalizes the act of homosexuality in the African country, including life in prison for some cases.
The new bill also prohibits the promotion of gay rights, including funding pro-homosexuality organizations.
Kadaga has previously said that she plans to pass the bill because the majority of Ugandans want stricter laws regarding homosexuality, reportedly because they want to protect the youth of the country from homosexual influence.
"Ugandans want that law as a Christmas gift. They have asked for it and we'll give them that gift," Kadaga told Reuters in November.
"Who are we not to do what they have told us? These people should not be begging us," Kadaga additionally told The Associated Press.
The bill initially included a death penalty provision for "aggravated homosexuality," but this provision was recently dropped.
Various international leaders have condemned this new bill, with U.S. president Barack Obama calling it "odious" and Pastor Rick Warren calling it "unjust."
Uganda's "Anti-Homosexuality Bill" has reportedly received a large amount of support from Ugandans and is slated to become law at the beginning of 2013.

Uganda is one of the few countries in the world where all homosexual acts are still illegal.

Double Portion…

By Edith M

2 Kings 2:1 states, "And it came to pass, when the LORD was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal" The verses following through verse 13 describe the efforts of Elijah to get Elisha to stay behind . Elisha kept protesting and emphatically stating that he was determined to stay with him because he knew that Elijah was about to be taken to heaven by a miraculous occurrence.

Elijah asked, "What do you want me to do for you as I leave?"

Elisha replied, "Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."

"You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so."

Shortly afterward as they walked and talked "suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, 'My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!' So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces. He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan." 2 Kings 2:11-13.

After that Elisha received a tremendous anointing from the LORD God. The Spirit of God was evident in all of the things that he did and said. Exactly has Elijah had promised him Elisha performed twice as many miracles of healing and victories than Elijah had done. His life was filled with the power and anointing of God.

2 Kings 13:20, 21 states, "Then Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year. So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet."

Through this miracle of the raising from the dead when the dead body touched Elisha's bones long after Elisha had died we see the fulfilment of the promise of God. God had promised Elisha through Elijah's words that he would have a double portion of Elijah's spirit which meant that he would have twice as many miracles as Elijah. The promises of God are true. Faith is only believing that God did not tell us a lie when He gave us promises through His word. Elisha believed what God had said and God honored Elisha's faith even though the final fulfilment did not occur until after the death of the one who believed in God's promises.

Have a blessed day. …Be strong week end ndio hiyoooo.. we are almost getting to Friday
